Akashi's grade is a comparison produced by a model. It can help you investigate an opportunity, but it cannot tell you whether your deposit will be repaid.

A grade is a category, not a guarantee

An A places an opportunity in a lower-risk category within the model's supported catalogue. It does not make that opportunity risk-free, rank every A against every other A, or predict a particular probability of loss.

The numeric score is not an expected-loss estimate. A score of 20 does not mean a 20% chance of losing money or an expected 20% loss.

Rating coverage is limited

The model covers supported stablecoin opportunities. Other items can be shown as Not rated. An absent grade means the model has not supplied a supported assessment, not that the risk is low.

Here, rating coverage means which opportunities the model assesses. It is separate from Junior coverage in an Akashi vault.

Inputs and assumptions can be wrong

Weights and thresholds reflect expert judgement informed by recorded DeFi incidents. That history can guide the model without making its predictions precise for every protocol or future failure.

Some facts, including governance thresholds or treasury resources, may be undisclosed. The model takes a cautious reading where data is missing, but incomplete or stale inputs still limit the result.

An authority's address shape is only a heuristic. It does not prove a multisig's members, threshold or governance quality.

Audits have a narrower scope

An audit is evidence about specified code and a specified review. It cannot rule out future exploits, compromised authorities or losses in an underlying asset. Akashi therefore does not treat the existence of an audit as sufficient proof of safety.

A venue's audit is also different from a review of an Akashi vault, its adapter and the combined strategy.

Current data can arrive late

Scores depend on source refreshes, incident detection and service availability. A displayed grade can lag an event. The absence of a downgrade or alert is not evidence that nothing changed.

Read the methodology alongside the opportunity's current holdings, exit conditions and grade explanation. An individual opportunity's grade should not be assumed to describe a whole Akashi vault.
