# Vaults FAQ (/invest/faq)

## Is Akashi Vaults live on mainnet? [#is-akashi-vaults-live-on-mainnet]

The mainnet core program is deployed and executable. An individual vault’s status, holdings and supported paths still need to be checked. See [availability](/invest/availability).

## Does Akashi hold my funds? [#does-akashi-hold-my-funds]

Vault deposits enter a vault governed by on-chain rules. Your wallet holds tranche shares. The backend does not hold your keys or sign. The executor can move vault assets only through the authority the program grants it. See [who controls what](/invest/who-controls-what).

## Is Senior guaranteed? [#is-senior-guaranteed]

No. Junior takes losses first, but Senior loses value once that cushion is exhausted. Other operational and liquidity risks can also affect an exit. Read [risks](/invest/risks).

## Why does Junior earn a higher expected rate? [#why-does-junior-earn-a-higher-expected-rate]

Junior receives part of Senior’s proportional gains as a premium for taking first losses. The premium and coverage affect the split. A higher expected rate is not a guaranteed positive return.

## Do I need to claim interest? [#do-i-need-to-claim-interest]

Booked results change the value backing your shares. That is different from receiving periodic interest tokens. [Shares](/invest/shares) explains the distinction.

## Why can’t I withdraw my Junior shares right away? [#why-cant-i-withdraw-my-junior-shares-right-away]

The notice period must finish, and funding must preserve coverage and satisfy liquidity and state conditions. A request can be partly funded. [Read the withdrawal guide](/invest/withdraw).

## Does requesting an exit fix my price? [#does-requesting-an-exit-fix-my-price]

No. Unfunded shares continue to earn or absorb losses. The funded portion is priced when funding occurs.

## Does a vault charge fees? [#does-a-vault-charge-fees]

The current core implementation has no management or performance fee. Network, account, protocol and execution costs can still apply. See [fees](/invest/fees).

## Can I change my mind after requesting? [#can-i-change-my-mind-after-requesting]

You can cancel an unfunded portion and recover its shares. A funded portion remains claimable as USDC. Cancellation does not reverse the result booked while waiting.

## Where should I ask for help? [#where-should-i-ask-for-help]

Use [troubleshooting](/resources/troubleshooting) first, then the [feedback form](https://akashi.finance/feedback). Include public addresses and transaction signatures when relevant, never a recovery phrase or private key.
