# Portfolio and position values (/akashi/portfolio)

The portfolio view helps you follow supported positions associated with your connected wallet. It brings information together. Your assets and ownership records remain on-chain or in the relevant protocol.

## Value and withdrawable amount differ [#value-and-withdrawable-amount-differ]

A displayed value can be based on a token price, protocol exchange rate or other estimate. It is not necessarily the USDC you can receive immediately. A position can have value while its exit waits for liquidity or redemption.

For vaults, distinguish these measurements wherever they appear. These are concepts, not a promise that every screen uses these exact field names:

| Measurement | What it tells you |
| --- | --- |
| Shares held | Tokens in your wallet representing participation in a tranche. |
| Estimated position value | What those shares are estimated to be worth at the displayed valuation. |
| Pending withdrawal shares | Shares held for a request but not yet converted into USDC. Their value can still change. |
| Claimable USDC | Cash already reserved for a funded withdrawal, ready to be claimed. |

Do not add a pending withdrawal's estimate to the same shares' value twice. [Shares](/invest/shares) and the [partial-withdrawal example](/invest/withdraw#a-partial-withdrawal-example) explain the transition from shares to cash.

## Updates can lag [#updates-can-lag]

Transaction confirmation and refreshed portfolio data are separate events. After signing, check the signature, network and wallet address. A confirmed transaction can precede the updated balance in Akashi.

A missing position can mean its protocol or position type is not supported by the view. Compare the relevant protocol's official interface and the confirmed transaction before concluding that funds are missing.

## Results and rate history [#results-and-rate-history]

A change in portfolio value is not always investment profit. New deposits, withdrawals, token prices and rewards can all affect the total. Read the time range and what the chart measures.

For example, a portfolio rising from 1,000 to 1,500 USDC after you add 500 has not earned a 50% return. A displayed annual rate is another measurement again: an estimate, not the amount earned so far.

## Investigating a discrepancy [#investigating-a-discrepancy]

Confirm the wallet, network, protocol and transaction signature. Use [troubleshooting](/resources/troubleshooting) if the confirmed action and displayed data disagree.

Connecting your wallet does not authorise spending. [Wallets and transactions](/akashi/wallets-and-transactions) explains the separate signature steps.
